Commercial Kitchen Fire
Following a large fire which originated in the kitchen of a well-known commercial restaurant, DBMP filed suit against the company responsible for servicing and maintaining the kitchen’s fire suppression system. The defendant company blamed the restaurant for failing to have the cooking line hoods and duct work cleaned of grease, as the restaurant mistakenly failed to arrange at least three successive grease cleanings immediately prior to the fire. The defendant also argued that the fire originated outside of the protective zone of the suppression system. DBMP utilized the suppression company’s own inspection reports and deposition testimony to prove that a thorough and complete inspection of the system could have avoided a large portion of the damage sustained.
